Windows 7
- While holding down the Start key, press the “R” key.
- The “Run” box should open.
- In the Run box, type “ncpa.cpl”.
- Right click on the “Local Area Connection” icon and select “Properties”.
- Check that “Client for Microsoft Networks and Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IpV4)”are
checked.
- If “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IpV6)” is checked, uncheck the box and continue.
- Double click on “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IpV4)”.
- “Obtain an IP address automatically” should be marked.
- “Obtain a DNS server automatically” should be marked.
- Click “OK” to close and reboot your PC for the changes take effect.
Windows Vista
- Click the search bar on the bottom left of your screen.
- Type, “Run” and press Enter.
- In the Run box, type “ncpa.cpl”.
- Right click on the “Local Area Connection” icon and select “Properties”.
- Check that “Client for Microsoft Networks and Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IpV4)”are
checked.
- If “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IpV6)” is checked, uncheck the box and continue.
- Double click on “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IpV4)”.
- “Obtain an IP address automatically” should be marked.
- “Obtain a DNS server automatically” should be marked.
- Click “OK” to close and reboot your PC for the changes take effect.
Windows XP
- Click “Start” and select “Control Panel”.
- Double click “Network Connections”.
- Right click “Local Area Connection” and click “Properties”.
- Look for “This connection uses the following items”.
- Verify that both “Client for Microsoft Networks” and “Internet
Protocol TCP/IP” are selected.
- Double-click “Internet Protocol TCP/IP”.
- Make sure all fields are empty.
- “Obtain an IP address automatically” should be marked.
- “Obtain a DNS server automatically” should be marked.
- Click “OK” to close and reboot your PC for the changes to take effect.
OS X (MAC)
- Go to finder window on the bottom of your screen, first icon.
- On your left bar, click on “Applications”.
- Click on “System preferences”.
- Click on “Network” icon.
- Select “Ethernet Connection”.
- Make sure your configuration is using DHCP, then apply.
