Wireless Connection

To connect your PC, Mac, or Laptop to the internet through a wireless router:

You will need to provide your own wireless router and wireless network card(s). Most laptops today come with a built in wireless network card. In order to connect your wireless router to the network, you will need an Ethernet cable.

For some apartment communities, you may need to change some additional settings before using your wireless router.

1. Connect your Ethernet cable to the wall outlet usually labeled “Data.” Connect the other end of your Ethernet cable to the Internet port on your wireless router. (There should be a port separate from any other ports on the back of the unit.)

2. Connect your computer to the wireless network. Open your preferred web browser and test to see if you can access the Internet. If you are not able to surf the web, make sure all cables are plugged in and there is a link light on the wireless router.

3. If you live in one of the communities listed below and are unable to connect through your wireless router, plug your computer directly into the wall outlet
